The many health beneifts of omega 3 fats

Some of the many benefits of omega 3 fatty acids. Omega 3 fatty acids are essential fats. This means the body can’t make them on their own and you have to get them from your diet. You can get them in food in the from cold water fish (omega 3 fatty acids DHA and EPA) and from some nuts and seeds and some oils like flax seed in the form of (omega 3 fatty acid ALA). They serve a number of functions in the body and I’ve seen estimates range from 70 to 90% of Americans being deficient in omega 3. Some scientist believe this may (along with too much omega 6 fats in the diet) be one of the reasons for so many of the health issues we have in this country.
